Over the week I’ve been enjoying the book of Ezra and a bit of Nehemiah. There is one particular thing I learnt and I think you must learn this too.
In this life, you will definitely face oppositions but what you do about it makes a lot of difference.
Hear this;
When Zerubabel begun building the temple, he faced opposition and he haulted it. It took years to complete it; delay. He started but couldn’t keep it going.( Ezra 1-5)
When Nehemiah was burdened about the ruined and demolished wall in Jerusalem, he didn’t just sit and complain, he prayed. After praying, he asked permission from the King, and the bible says because God was with him, the King gave his permission. God was with, but he faced opposition through out the time of the project. His reaction was not to stop building. Anytime he was faced with an opposition, he spoke to God. Infact he made sure he spoke to God through out the building. After praying, he armed his men and stationed guards around the wall just in case his enemies attacked them.( Nehemiah 1-6)
When you are faced with oppositions, what do you do?
After prayers what do you do?
Nehemiah showed a good example of faith with works, a good example of watch and pray.
You can learn from this as you build, if you want to complete what you start building.
