THE PARABLE OF THE GROWING SEED II

The primary focus of the parables of Jesus Christ is the Kingdom of God. And it is for this cause He spent many years of His life, combing the earth, doing (Mark 1:14-15, “Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the KINGDOM OF GOD, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel).

Jesus said, “The Kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground.” He likened the parable to the act of planting seeds in a field. In other words, Jesus Christ is actually planting the seed of the Kingdom of God in our hearts. He was drawing our hearts and attention to eternity or eternal life- to have the natural yearning for eternal life. No wonder He taught us to pray, “THY KINGDOM COME.”

We read again in the Parable, that a man should scatter seed on the ground and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow.” As Christians, we are to scatter the seed or preach, the Kingdom of God. We just plant the seed of the Kingdom of God, and God will take it from there. 1Co 3:6 – 9 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth, but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are laborers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.

Dear friends, this world has nothing to offer humanity greater than the glory which awaits us should we abide in the word of God. Thus, we must strive to seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all other things will follow. Because at the end of it all, when we have produced the right kind of fruit, we will be part of God’s first harvest.
