Isaiah:43.1-5
But now, this is what the LORD says– he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead.
Since you are precious and honoured in my sight, and because I love you, I will give Ye men in exchange for you, and people in exchange for your life.
Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west.
His love is our greatest assurance, his love delivers and reassures us that whatever and wherever, he will be there. This is how his love drives away our fears.
The one who loves us is the mighty man; the Lord our God. He is a faithful God and so we can trust his love. He loved us when we didn’t deserve it and this makes his love genuine and trustworthy.
For the sake of his love, he kills and destroys. He even died that we may escape death. We can be confident only because of his love and because we know that even in our worst days he will be there. We know that in the fire he will be there and so we will not burn. We know him to be one that calms storms and one that saves.
This love of his gives hope and brings comfort to our troubled souls. It brings us joy when we are in sorrow . For we know that all things work together for us because we love him who first loved us. This is how we are not afraid of pain and sorrow, we know his love will be there.
I asked him, father! how does your love drives away this fear of mine? I was afraid of what the future holds. He said; because I love you I will go before you and make straight the crooked paths, I will break down every gate of iron and brass. I will level down those mountains and raise those valleys. He says will again walk with you, you won’t be alone.
That is enough to drive away your fears. Your knowledge of my love is enough to lighten up your life.
It is so hard to live in fear, that kind of life has lost its value. If only you will receive and hold on to the knowledge of his love, it can and will drive away your fears.
