It is natural to be quick to think someone’s trials or sufferings are as a result of their sins or rather it is easy and less painful to think that people suffer because of their sins. If it were so life would be easier.
Job 1 actually begins with an introduction of who Job was. The bible says he was blameless and righteous. That was the criteria for the trouble he went theough( lol). Even his friends who were kind enough to stay with him thought that he had than something wrong, but he was blameless.
I’m sure you have wondered why certain people go through what they are going through. I’m sure you think it would be fair if bad things happened to only good people. It isn’t always like that. Sometimes, no one suffers less. People go through a whole lot because of many reasons and sometimes for no reason.
Then what is the essence for being upright and blameless?
The major reason is ETERNITY.
Now, that should scare you and be a good enough reason to be upright and righteous.
Revelation:16.15
“Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed.”
Revelation:22.12
“Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.
In the end everything you do will matter and it may be too late to make amends.
So, for now we all may go through fire and you may even go through worse because the devil is after you just like he was after Job but the Lord indeed knows His own.
Let them all grow together.
