Ecclesiastes 9:4-10, talks about how hope is meant for only the living. Once you have life, you are entitled to hope.
WHAT IS HOPE?
The dictionary defines hope as a feeling of expectant and desire for a particular thing to happen. The greek word for hope is elpo ; this means to anticipate or welcome. With these we can conclude that hope is an element of faith. In Hebrews 11:1, faith is defined as the confidence in in what we hope for…
Without hope, we can’t even have faith. I now see why we struggle with faith; we don’t hope for anything.
I don’t have a definition for hope, but this is what I’ve learnt about hope.
Hope fuels our faith as believers, it helps us to stand in faith. Hope brings comfort, peace and joy. Hebrews 6:19 says we have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. Hope keeps us firm and secure.
Hope keeps you excited and this energises us to keep going. It keeps you determined and motivated.
When we lose hope we make a decision to stop living. We begin to crumble down and waste away because we become like one without faith.
A lot of things have gradually died in our lives because we lost hope. I want to encourage you to rekindle hope, allow Christ pour hope into you and live again.
Why lose hope when you can be full of it?
“Once you have life, you are entitled to hope.”
…and so I’m I…
My hope is in Jesus. He is my life, my God, my destiny, my purpose, my fulfillment, my destination, and my all in all.
Hallelujah
Such gold!
