ENDURANCE

 My friends, consider yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way, 3 for you know that when your faith succeeds in facing such trials, the result is the ability to endure. 4 Make sure that your endurance carries you all the way without failing, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing
JAMES 1:2-4

We need to be reminded to patiently endure, especially as the end is approaching. Trials and temptations wouldn’t cease, in fact they can become worse. We may become overwhelmed at times but we would still have to endure.

Endurance can also mean perseverance or resilience, and it means to withstand hard and difficult times and not giving up. You can’t live by faith and not learn to endure. Difficult times wouldn’t always go away, it may worsen so build up yourself to stand till the end; to endure.

The athlete running long a distance race can’t finish his race without enduring the muscle pain and loss of breath. He only has to endure to the end or else he will be disqualified.

Our anchor scripture tells us that our endurance leads to perfection, he says when we endure we will be complete and lack nothing. Let’s build ourselves up to endure so that we shall be made complete and be able to stand as victors.

Revelation 13:7 &10 says ” It was given power to wage war against God’s holy people and to conquer them” the verse 10b continues to say ” this calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God’s people”. Untill we learn to endure we wouldn’t be able to stand to the end because difficult times are part of the christian journey. We need to endure through it all so we can get to destination, so we can overcome because some difficulties are in our lives to make us perfect and complete.

May the Lord strengthen us and help us endure what we need to endure so that we are made perfect, complete and lacking nothing.
