Before creation, God new what the world needed. During creation, he introduced to the world what it needed. Christ was given because he was all the world needed.
The bible in Genesis 1:2 says ” Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep and the spirit of God was hovering over the waters(NIV). It is obvious from this passage that God was not pleased with the state of the world. Verse 3 of the chapter says ‘ And God said, let there be light and there was light. The first thing God called forth was light.
When we read John 1:1-5, it says ‘ In the begining was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. He was with God in the begining. Through him, all things were made, without him, nothing was made that has been made. In him was life and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it”. Clearly, the light God called in the begining was life, this life is Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ was the light God called forth in the begining of creation. He was what the world needed. He later became flesh and lived among us so he can bring salvation to our souls.
In a world full of oppression, wickedness and suffering, Jesus is what we need. So as we celebrate the birth of the saviour, let’s not forget to give the world more of Jesus. This season is all about what the world needed and needs. The light that can overcome the darkness of the world.
Jesus to the world. Merry Christmas to us all.
God bless you
