3 REASONS WHY YOU AREN’T GROWING SPIRITUALLY

Spiritual growth like any other growth is expected of every man, born again. There is a level of intimacy, anointing, Ā grace and glory you can’t experience if you don’t grow spiritually. ThereĀ  are battles you can only win when you have attained certain spiritual growth. Growing spiritually also helps you to live godly and blameless. Hence the need to take our spiritual growth seriously. Here are 3 reasons you may be struggling with spiritual growth.

1. You may not be feeding on the pure word of God.

In order to grow, we will need the word of God. The word written in the bible is the pure spiritual milk, read the word and meditate on it. Listening to the word of God from preachers is not bad but you must first read and allow the holy spirit to teach you what he wants to teach you. He will feed you with the pure milk you need. Desire it and the holy spirit will take it from there. It must also be a genuine desire and hunger. The holy spirit only fills he who is hungry and thirsty.

ā€œLike newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation. ā€- 1 Peter 2:2 ( NIV)

2. You are still acting as a childĀ

11Ā When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.- 1 Corinthians 13:11( KJV)

We are still acting as babies and doing what babies do. Instead of walking, we are still crawling. Instead of praying we are waiting to be prayed for. We would like others to see for us, hear God for us and even speak to him for us. You think about unecessary things and do things that does not bringĀ  spiritual growth.

3. You keep looking back

Just like Lot’s wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt, looking and going back to your past life makes you stagnant in your spiritual growth. Stop desiring the sinful way you use to live. Stop going back the old things you use to do for the old is gone and the new has come( Galatians 3:26). Look to the new and and live the new life Christ has given you.
